Former RCB skipper and the modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli was criticized by some of the former cricketers and cricket experts or journalists. They spoke critically about Kohli’s century against Rajasthan Royals in RCB’s last game at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur and called him out for the ‘slowest’ century in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, this criticism of Virat Kohli’s century didn’t go well with his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma and he lashed out at the experts or journalists who criticized Virat Kohli and called him out for a ‘slow approach’.

'I think they don’t know the context of the match' - Rajkumar Sharma

Rajkumar Sharma came up with some harsh words while giving it back to all who denied Kohli’s century against RR and termed it a ‘selfish’ or ‘sluggish’ knock.

“A few people who are talking this nonsense, I think they don’t know the context of the match, what was the situation of the match and how the team was struggling. They only speak to get into the news; simply because whenever you speak about any ordinary player, it doesn’t get you placed in the news headlines but if you speak about a player like Virat Kohli, it gets you in the headlines of the newspapers; they are just using his criticism to be relevant in the news,” said Rajkumar Sharma to ‘Indian Sports Fans’ founder Sunil Kalra in a live TV show on India news.

Later, Rajkumar Sharma was asked about the critics of the former cricketers or some experts who called out Kohli’s knock. While replying, Sharma categorically termed them a ‘lobby’ is running an agenda against Kohli.

“See, it is a lobby that is running an agenda; they are just driving an agenda, and we as the fans or true analysts don’t give a damn about their agenda. See, the King will always be the King. The person who knows even the ‘C’ of cricket will never talk nonsense like this,” he added later.
