Bangladesh have put themselves in the driver’s seat of the 2nd Test match in Rawalpindi. Mohammad Rizwan was one of the two batters to put up some resistance against a fired-up Bangladeshi bowling attack. The Pakistani wicketkeeper scored 43 runs and helped Pakistan get out of the tough situation.

Hasan Mahmud was the best bowler for Bangladesh during the 2nd innings as the pacer took a fifer. In the 5th ball of the 37th over, Mohammad Rizwan went for a wild shot outside the off stump. Litton Das took an easy catch as Hasan Mahmud could be seen giving Rizwan a send-off.

Bad light and rain forced an early stop to play on the 4th day. When stumps were called Bangladesh had already scored 42 for no loss from 7 overs and still need 143 more runs to secure a second Test win and a first series win against Pakistan.

Bangladesh on the cusp of history

It was yet another miserable day for Pakistan cricket as they were bundled out for just 172 on the board. Hasan Mahmud ended the day with figures of 5/43 from his 10.4 overs as the visitors were set a target of 185 to win.

Pakistan began the 4th day in fine style as Saim Ayub was the most aggressive batter. The left-handed batter tried to put the pressure back on the Bangladeshi bowlers with some crisp shots.

From 47/2 Pakistan collapsed to 81/6 in a space of 50 balls as Nahid Rana ran riot. The right-arm pacer got the wickets of Shan Masood, Babar Azam, and Saud Shakeel in quick succession. Saim Ayub became the first wicket of the day when he fell to Taskin Ahmed.

Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha then added 55 runs for the 7th wicket. Just when it seemed the home team were managing to stage a comeback it went downhill. Hasan Mahmud dismissed Rizwan and Mohammad Ali off successive balls.

Nahid Rana then got his 4th when he had the wicket of spinner Abrar Ahmed for 2. Salman Agha and Mir Hamza then took the score past 150 before Mahmud had the wicket of Hamza for 4 to grab his fifer. At the close of play, Zakir Hasan was batting on 31 with Shadman Islam on 9.
