Pakistan cricket team is gearing up for a two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The fierce battle between the two Asian teams will kick off on August 21 as the Men in Green host the matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi. The series will play a significant role in Pakistan's campaign in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 ​​cycle.

The Shan Masood-led side is preparing intensively for the upcoming series. Meanwhile, former all-format captain and their star batsman Babar Azam is understood to be in no mood to leave any stone unturned after a disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup.

In a video that went viral on social media, the right-hander was left fuming after failing to middle the ball during a net session. Babar tried an expansive shot away from his body to a good-length delivery and got a thick outside edge. The bowler was quick to celebrate, but a frustrated Babar kicked the off stump away with immense power.

Pakistan release two players ahead of Bangladesh series opener

Pakistan have decided to go with an all-pace attack in the first Test against Bangladesh. As a result, star wrist-spinner Abrar Ahmed and top-order batter Kamran Ghulam will miss the first match.

Both the players will now be included in the Pakistan Shaheens squad for their second four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A,’ which begins on August 20 in Islamabad. Ghulam has been named their captain. They are expected to join the main team after the conclusion of the Shaheen’s match.
