Duleep Trophy 2024 has reached its final round of games with India A and India C being embroiled in a huge game. Uttar Pradesh’s young pacer Aaqib Khan was the star for India A with two wickets in two balls.

The youngster gave his team an early breakthrough with the wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad for 17. The India C saw Khan bowl an out-swinger that saw Gaikwad edge behind Kumar Kushagra for 17.

In the very next ball, Rajat Patidar saw the ball keep low as his off-stump was uprooted. The RCB star was out for a first-ball duck to continue his poor form with the bat in the longest format of the game.

India A rides on the century by Shaswat Rawat

It was Ruturaj Gaikwad who won the toss and chose to bowl first. Pratham Singh and Mayank Agarwal scored six runs each before being dismissed. Mayank Agarwal in particular would have looked for a big score in a bid to force a comeback. ‘

Anshul Kamboj who picked 8/69 in the last game got rid of both the opening batters. Tilak Varma scored 5 before being run-out for 5, while Riyan Parag scored 2 before falling to Vijaykumar Vyshak. The Karnataka pacer then dismissed Kumar Kushagra to reduce India A to 36/5.

Shams Mulani and Shaswat Rawat then added 87 runs for the 6th wicket before Mulani was out for 44. Anshul Kamboj got his third scalp when he dismissed Tanush Kotian for 10 runs from 15 balls.

Avesh Khan came out to join Rawat as the pair added 90 runs for the 8th wicket in 164 balls. Prasidh Krishna batted well for India A as he scored 34 off 39 balls with 7 hits to the fence. The best batter for India A was Shaswat Rawat who hit 124 off 250 balls with 15 fours. Avesh Khan was not out on 54 off 68 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes.

In the other game, Sanju Samson came back to form with a timely century. The 29-year-old was called out for his bad performance in the previous match. Shreyas Iyer was out for yet another duck as the Indian batter continued to score runs with the bat.
