Left-handed batter Pratham Singh made a late debut in Indian cricket at the age of 25. His first match in the Ranji Trophy came for Railways against Maharashtra away in Pune in 2017.

The home team batted first and scored 481 and the Railways team scored 381. Pratham Singh made an immediate impact with 73 off 154 runs with 11 fours. The game ended in a draw but the young batter had done well to make his mark. Earlier that year, Singh had also got his first taste of IPL as he was snapped up by Gujarat Lions.

Kolkata Knight Riders then paid INR 20 Lakhs to snap up Pratham Singh ahead of the IPL 2022 season. The left-handed batter is yet to play a game in the league as he was warming the bench for the Kolkata-based side.

Coming out to bat in the 2nd innings with skipper Mayank Agarwal, the left-handed batter had nothing to lose. Having played out the day with ease, the start of the 3rd day saw Pratham Singh unleash his strokes. Batting on 88, Pratham Singh hit one six to reach 94. This was followed by two fours to reach his 2nd domestic century as the batter celebrated by removing his helmet with clear happiness on his face.

Saurabh Kumar ended his innings on 122 off 189 balls when he was caught by Shreyas Iyer.  His knock included 12 sweetly timed fours and that one six that took him closer to the three-figure. Till now Pratham Singh has played 29 first-class matches with a best of 169 not out that came against Tripura in the last game of Ranji Trophy group matches. That knock also helped him chase the highest-ever score in the history of the tournament.
