Playing for Team India D, Sanju Samson has smashed a ton in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 against Team India B. The century was a reply to all the critics who thought he wasn't capable of scoring runs in red-ball cricket. While he couldn't do much in the 2nd round of the tournament, in the 3rd match, he hit 106 runs off 101 balls, including 12 boundaries and three sixes. It was his 11th first-class century and his maiden Duleep Trophy century.

On winning the toss, Team India B invited Team India D to bat first. However, their decision backfired as Team D scored 347 runs in the first innings. They haven't declared the innings yet since two more wickets are left. Top-order batters Devdutt Padikkal, Srikar Bharat, and Ricky Bhui gave a brilliant start to the game, scoring half-centuries each.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer went out cheaply for a duck, but Samson showed great intent and went on to smash the bowlers throughout the innings. Once again, the star bowler for Team B was Navdeep Saini, who claimed four wickets. He has been incredible throughout the tournament and after this game, the selectors will keep an eye on his performance. Moreover, Rahul Chahar also took three wickets and dismissed some of the best batters in the team.

Shashwat Rawat smashes 124 runs in Duleep Trophy 2024

In another game between Team India A and Team India C, Shashwat Rawat scored 124 runs against Team C in the Duleep Trophy 2024. His knock was brilliant as he hit 15 boundaries and played with a lot of patience. After the top order was shattered like a pack of cards, Rawat stood there like a lone wolf defending all the tough balls and hitting the loose balls. He was supported by Sams Mulani who scored 44 runs off 76 balls.

Vijaykumar Vyshak was the star bowler for Team C since he claimed four wickets. Along with him, Anshul Kamboj took three wickets, and Gaurav Yadav took two wickets.  Team India A scored 297 runs and were all out. Now, Team C will have to score more than them to have a chance to win the match.
