The Vitality Blast T20 2024 match between Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire witnessed yet another incident where Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali injured himself. Hasan, who is known for his aggressive and unique wicket-taking celebrations, suffered a rib strain while performing his trademark 'generator celebration’.

The Warwickshire fast bowler nailed a perfect yorker to dismiss Olly Stone and he couldn’t resist himself from doing his signature celebration. However, his excitement was short-lived as he felt discomfort in his rib area and immediately sought medical attention. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media and fans are flooding the comment section with hilarious comments.

Fortunately, the extent of the injury was minor and the right-arm pacer recovered ahead of Warwickshire's subsequent game against Lancashire on June 7. Including the wicket of Stone, Hasan grabbed two wickets to help his team clinch a 22-run victory.

Injury and inconsistent form deny Hasan Ali a World Cup spot

This is not the first time Hasan has injured himself with his trademark celebration. A similar incident happened during Pakistan's tour of Zimbabwe in 2018. He injured his shoulder following a celebratory move after taking the wicket of Ryan Murray with a toe-crushing yorker.

Hasan Ali’s struggle with injury and form were the main reasons behind his exclusion from Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad. He had made a surprise return to the T20I squad for the series against England but lost his World Cup spot to Haris Rauf, who returned to full fitness ahead of the marquee event.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is enduring a tough time in the World Cup. They have lost their first two matches and are yet to open their account. The Men in Green’s latest defeat came against arch-rivals India as they failed to chase down a target of 120 runs. Their next game is against Canada on Tuesday, which will be crucial for them to stay in the hunt for Super 8s qualification.
