The Pakistan cricket team suffered a major loss against archrivals India in the 19th game of the 2024 T20 World Cup as the Men in Green failed to chase down a modest 120 runs in the given 20 overs. Speaking about the game, Pakistan captain Babar Azam had invited the Men in Blue to bat first. Notably, after being sent to bat first, Rohit Sharma and Co. were bundled out for just 119 runs in 19 overs. However, Pakistan only managed to get 113 runs and lost the game by 6 runs. Following the same, former Pakistan cricketers and 1992 World Cup-winning members Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis have criticised the Green Camp after their loss against India.

Waqar Younis feels that India gave Pakistan a great chance to win the game by batting poorly. The legendary cricketer feels Pakistan batters were horrible in the game and failed to stick to partnerships in the beginning, which made them lose the game badly despite restricting them early.

"I think India gave Pakistan a good chance of winning this game by batting poorly. Pakistan - if you can't win this game, what should I say? This was given to you on a plate and Pakistan really spilled it. It was a horrible performance by the Pakistani batters. There were a few partnerships in the beginning but they couldn't really finish the game," Waqar said on Star Sports.

They have been playing cricket for 10 years, and I can’t teach them: Wasim Akram

Meanwhile, Wasim Akram feels they have no game skills and tactics, despite knowing the sport for about 10 years. The left-arm pacer criticises Rizwan and opens up about a few tactics against right-arm pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

"They have been playing cricket for 10 years, and I can’t teach them. Rizwan has no game awareness. He should have known that Bumrah was given the ball to take wickets and that the wise thing would have been to play his deliveries cautiously. But Rizwan went for a big shot and lost his wicket," Wasim Akram said.
