India won the thrilling contest against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, maintaining its record. It was an incredible match which was totally in favour of Pakistan since the start of the second innings. However, unlike their bowlers, the men in Green's batting attack failed miserably and, hence, lost the game by 6 runs. While Mohammad Rizwan tried to hold on to the match, the wickets kept tumbling down as soon as he got dismissed.

Pakistan's decision to field first looked quite good at first since they bowled out India for 119 runs. None of the batters touched the 10-run mark as the wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Only Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma, and Axar Patel scored 42, 13, and 20 runs respectively. It was a terrible batting outing for the others. However, Pakistan's bowling attack was miraculous as they dismissed India for such a low target. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took three wickets each, while Mohammad Amir took two wickets.

When Pakistan came to bat, they just had 120 runs to chase, which was run a ball. It was onto the openers to give the team a good start, which they failed to do. Three batters got dismissed for 13 runs, including captain Babar Azam. That was when the team's downfall started. While Rizwan tried to hold on to the game, Pakistan's batting attack shattered once he was dismissed for 31 runs off 44 balls. It was Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya's magic as they took three and two wickets, respectively. Pakistan's poor batting took the game away from them and gifted it to India.

'We were really disciplined so it feels good' - Jasprit Bumrah after crushing Pakistan's batting attack
