The third game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is set to witness a massive encounter. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, both five-time winners, will begin their season with the huge clash to be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has played and won IPL titles with both sides.

Ahead of the game on Sunday, Star Sports put out a video where Harbhajan Singh named his combined all-time XI. Harbhajan played ten seasons for Mumbai, winning three titles before moving to Chennai and winning a few more titles. The former India spinner ended his career in the IPL after a short stint with Kolkata Knight Riders. 

In a short video posted by Star Sports, Harbhajan named Rohit Sharma and Shane Watson as the openers. It was under Rohit Sharma that the Mumbai Indians have won all the IPL titles so far. Rohit also enjoyed a great battle with MS Dhoni, with the latter losing all the matches against the current Indian skipper.

Harbhajan names himself as impact player 

Former India star Harbhajan SSingh,while naming the combined CSK and MI XI named Suresh Raina at the number three spot. Raina, who is called the Chinna Thala in Chennai was a key part of the side since 2008 with several match winning knocks. Bhajji, named Suryakumar Yadav to bat at number four in the side. Yadav is set to lead the side instead of Hardik Pandya due to the one-match ban the regular MI skipper was handed. 

The 44-year-old named Kieron Pollard and Pandya in the middle-order along with MS Dhoni. Former CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja was slotted into bat at number eight with Dwayne Bravo batting at number nine. The combined CSK and MI XI also saw Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga being named as the two lead pacers. As far as the impact player goes, Harbhajan Singh named himself for the role. 

Chennai and Mumbai will meet for the 38th time in the IPL, with MI holding the edge with 20 wins compared to the 17 for CSK. The last time Mumbai won the game opening game of the season was against Chennai at the Chepauk Stadium in 2012 which had Harbhajan Singh as the captain.
