Sanjeev Goenka, owner of the Lucknow Super Giants, is still thrilled by Digvesh Rathi’s performance on the cricket pitch. On Monday, June 16, Goenka shared a viral video of Rathi, who got five wickets in five balls during a local match. With his remarkable accuracy, the leg-spinner, who gained popularity during the 2025 Indian Premier League season, showed his bowling skills in local matches also.

In the game he not only clean bowled three batters but also claimed five wickets in five deliveries by affecting two LBWs. Sanjeev Goenka was impressed by his bowling and expressed his excitement on X. “Stumbled upon this clip of Digvesh Rathi taking 5 in 5 in a local T20 game. "Just a glimpse of the talent that made him a breakout star for @LucknowIPL in IPL 2025,” Sanjeev Goenka tweeted on Monday.

Digvesh Rathi made a big impression in his first season after being purchased by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at a base price of Rs 30 lakh in the super auction. The spinner was able to draw in both cricket fans and commentators despite being embroiled in controversy with his unusual “notebook” celebrations, which resulted in fines and a suspension. 

Rathi was a vital member of LSG, playing in 13 games and finishing as the team’s top wicket-taker with 14 wickets. Because the competition was high-scoring, his performance was noteworthy. He maintained an economy rate of 8.25 and an average of 30.64. He has established himself as a player to watch in the next season thanks to this outstanding start.  

The 25-year-old bowls with right-arm leg-break deliveries, emulating Sunil Narine, and has been commended for his potency in crucial situations.
