Former Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir has taken an indirect swipe at Sanjeev Goenka. The owner of Lucknow Super Giants was seen in an animated conversation with KL Rahul and Justin Langer after the loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Gambhir, who quit LSG ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season for Kolkata Knight Riders, has praised Shah Rukh Khan. His comments were made during an exclusive chat with Sportskeeda.

The former captain of the two-time IPL winners spoke about why he rated Shah Rukh Khan highly and also his return to the franchise. Kolkata Knight Riders are top of the table and will take on Mumbai Indians in their next game.

Sanjeev Goenka was in the news recently for his spat with KL Rahul after the loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad. The LSG side lost the game inside ten overs as the SRH team won by ten wickets to deal a huge blow to Lucknow’s hopes of making it to the playoffs.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Gambhir said, "Shah Rukh Khan is the best Owner I have ever worked with. He has never interfered in cricketing matters in KKR team. He trusts in me and backs my decisions. The relationship between Captain, Coach & owners is very important."

The former KKR skipper also said, “Imagine someone, as an owner who himself has been such a big achiever, not even talking about cricket or asking you a single thing about your decision making. He trusted your decision-making. I’m not saying I made all the right decisions. But he never questioned my decisions that’s the trust he had in me.”

Recounting one particular incident during his chat with Sportskeeda the former skipper said, “I couldn’t score one run in four games. I’ve said it numerous times I think he is the best owner I’ve worked with.”

Social media users were outraged as the LSG owner could be seen chastising KL Rahul in front of the cameras. The 32-year-old was seen calmly making his points after the loss to SRH to earn the respect of the fans while Goenka earned the ire of the fans.
