The 28th match of the Big Bash League 2024-25 saw the Melbourne Stars take on the Sydney Sixers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The home side, despite James Vince's half-century, registered a comprehensive win in the match.
During the 19th over of the second innings, the crowd at MCG was surprised at what they had seen. Beau Webster completed a stunning catch that seemed to be sailing for a six. His extraordinary height made it seem simple, but the crowd truly enjoyed it.
Peter Siddle bowled a short-pitched delivery that Ben Dwarshuis pulled away towards the deep mid wicket region. Webster came running in and took a simple catch, which could have ended over the fence. The crowd at MCG went wild at the sight of this wicket.

Earlier in the game, the Sixers won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Stars then posted a target of 157 runs for them to chase down, crediting Glenn Maxwell's half-century and Webster's 48-run knock. With the ball, Sean Abott was the top performer for the Sixers with three wickets, while Jack Edwards and Hayden Kerr took a wicket each.
In the chase, the Sydney Sixers did not stand much of a chance to win the match as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals of the game. They failed to build any significant partnerships, with a 40-run stand between James Vince and captain Moises Henriques being the highest. Vince (53 runs off 44 balls) was the highest scorer of the team. As a result, they handed a 16-run win to the Melbourne Stars.
The Stars currently stand sixth on the points table with three wins in seven games that they have played so far. On the other hand, the Sixers are in the second position with four wins in their seven games.
