The County Championship clash on Thursday (September 12) witnessed a thrilling encounter between Somerset and Surrey. With just a few minutes to go before stumps on the final day, Somerset set up an aggressive field to claim Surrey's final wicket.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, all 11 Somerset players can be seen in a single frame as their captain Lewis Gregory orchestrated a high-pressure scenario to pull off an incredible win. A total of 13 players, including the bowler and two batters, were inside the inner circle and around the pitch, to get rid of Surrey batter Daniel Worrall in the final over.

Veteran spinner Jack Leach was the bowler. The left-hander produced a brilliant off-cutter that hit Worrell's pads and every player in the Somerset team raised their hands in appeal. It didn't take long for the umpire to raise his finger and the entire Somerset players all erupted in joy.

Here’s the viral video of Somerset’s incredible win against Surrey:

Michael Vaughan's son takes limelight in Somerset's famous win

Somerset’s 111-run victory was engineered by teenage sensation Archie Vaughan, son of former England captain Michael Vaughan. Surrey batters were strangled by Archie’s off-spin as he took 6 for 102 in the first innings and 5 for 38 in the second innings.

Earlier after opting to bat first, Somerset scored 317 on the back of Tom Banton’s century. Shakib Al Hasan and Worrall shone for Surrey with four and three wickets, respectively. A collective batting effort from Surrey’s top and middle order helped them score 321 in reply. Apart from Archie, Leach also performed well with a four-wicket haul.

In the second innings, Somerset was restricted to 224, thanks to Shakib Al Hasan’s fifer. Chasing a target of 221, opener Dom Sibley gave a solid start for Surrey by notching up a half-century. However, he did not get enough support from the rest as Leach and Archie again wreaked havoc with five wickets each.
