Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan misses practice session ahead of the 2-match Test series against India. Shakib has travelled to England to join Surrey in County Championship Division One 2024 before the series. The practice session for the Bangladesh team was held in Mirpur, but the all-rounder missed it and is likely to join the Bangladesh team directly in India. He will be playing one game against Somerset and will return to India.

Shakib hasn't visited the country since the political unrest started in Bangladesh. Even for the Pakistan series, he directly joined the team and will now do the same. Surrey's management is excited to welcome Shakib onboard since he's a world-famous player and has great knowledge of the game.

"Shakib brings a wealth of experience and outstanding skill with bat and ball, and we look forward to seeing what he can do for Surrey," Alec Stewart said after the Bangladesh all-rounder's signing. Shakib is set to replace Sai Sudarshan as an overseas player. Surrey are currently leading the points table in the County Championship with seven wins in 11 matches, while Somerset are in the second position with four wins and one loss in 11 matches.
