KL Rahul opens up on MS Dhoni after Team India had dinner in his home

Ahead of the first ODI against South Africa in Ranchi, the players and support staff in the Indian Team had a dinner at MS Dhoni's residence. In the press conference, KL Rahul opened up on Dhoni's importance to his career and highlighted his legacy. 

The Indian ODI skipper for the series against South Africa wished to have MS Dhoni in attendance for the first match in Ranchi. Speaking at the press conference, Rahul said that most of the Indian players currently had once played under him and added they're his fans.

Rahul added that it is his privilege to know someone as big as Dhoni personally and added that everyone in the Indian team has a lot of respect for him. "We have all played under him. We have all been his fans, and we have also played alongside him, so he is a friend, and to know someone like MS, you know, what can I say - it’s a really happy feeling," Rahul said.

"Getting an opportunity like this, to know someone as big and as successful as him as an Indian cricketer, we have all respected him as a human being as well. So if he comes to watch the match, the excitement for the crowd and for us will increase even more," Rahul added.

"So yes, we are happy. If the crowd turns up in big numbers, we will also enjoy playing here, and hopefully, we can win the game, put in a good performance, entertain the crowd, and MS Dhoni will also feel happy that we won," Rahul concluded.
