The Indian Men's T20 team's skipper revealed he would love to beat Australia in the final to win the tournament. Harmanpreet agreed and claimed wins against a big team like Australia will forever stay with individuals.

India's T20 World Cup 2024 winning skipper, Rohit, was present while the schedule of the following edition was announced. His successor, Suryakumar, was asked about the team he would prefer beating to win the tournament. That's when Yadav said without any hesitation, "Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Australia."

Both Rohit and Suryakumar were a part of the team that lost to Australia in the ODI World Cup final in 2023 after staying unbeaten in the tournament. While Rohit made a quickfire 47(31), Yadav struggled at the death and managed to score only 18(28). The experienced batter would love to change things if he gets a chance in 2026.

"Australia is the only team that we want to beat," - Harmanpreet Kaur

Harmanpreet was also present at the event, and she agreed with what Suryakumar said. The skipper of the Indian Women's team said that wins against Australia will forever stay with the players. "Australia is the only team that we want to beat because that's the game that stays with you," Harmanpreet noted.

A few weeks ago, the Indian Women did the unthinkable and chased down the highest target in the history of Women's ODIs to knock Australia out of the semifinal. They went on to beat South Africa in the final to win their maiden ICC title under the leadership of Harmanpreet.
