Team India hits the nets ahead of the massive game against Afghanistan
It was a busy day for Rohit Sharma and his Indian Cricket Team as they sweated it out at the nets. Each and every player was seen going through the paces as the men in blue will play Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Australia in the Super-8 stages. The top two teams from each group make it the Semi-Finals of the T20 World Cup tournament.
Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour has come out in support of former India skipper Virat Kohli amidst his bad form with the bat. The 35-year-old has scored just 5 runs with the bat while opening the batting for India.
Speaking to the media, Rathour said “It doesn’t worry us at all that Kohli hasn’t got the runs in games in the US. He has been batting beautifully in the nets and he looks all the more hungry”
Afghanistan who are India’s first opponents have played outstanding cricket so far. Rashid Khan’s side have won 3 out of the four matches in the league phase stages. The Indians will then take on Bangladesh and Australia to round off the Super-8 phase on the 24th of June.
The form of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be crucial as the men in blue look to make the knock-out phase of yet another World Cup. The two veteran stars will also want to win the title and break the long wait for an ICC title that has eluded India for nearly 11 years.
