R. Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah take top two spots in latest ICC Test rankings, Yashasvi Jaiswal rated best Indian batter

Team India players have made huge strides in the ICC Test rankings post the huge win in Chennai. In the batting charts, Yashasvi Jaiswal has moved into the 5th place in the table. The youngster has been in terrific form with the bat in the Test format in 2024. Rishabh Pant moved to the 6th place in the table after his century in Chennai. 

As far as the Test bowling rankings go, R. Ashwin is at the top with 871 points. Jasprit Bumrah is 2nd with 854 points while Ravindra Jadeja has moved up a spot to number 6 with 804 points. 

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has lost five places to be ranked at number 10 in the batting rankings. Virat Kohli has moved to 12th spot from the seventh place to be placed behind Pakistani batter Babar Azam. 

Jaiswal and Ashwin continue to make rapid strides

Indian batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal played 7 Tests this year and scored 804 runs. The left-handed batter scored 209 against England in the first innings of the 2nd Test vs England in Visakhapatnam. This was followed by an unbeaten 214 off 236 balls during the 2nd innings of the Rajkot Test. 

Rishabh Pant played just a single Test and scored 148 runs with an average of 74 with one century. Rohit Sharma so far scored 466 runs this year with an average of 38 with 2 centuries and one fifty. Chennai Test was just the 2 game for Virat Kohli in the longest format this year where he scored a total of 46 runs with an average of 20.25

Shubman Gill is 14th in the table for the ICC best Test batters making his move up from the 19th spot. The right-handed batter has scored 617 runs from 7 matches with an average of 56 with 3 tons and 2 fifties. 

R. Ashwin has played 6 Test matches this year and scored 229 runs with the bat with one century during the Chennai Test. With the ball the 38-year-old has picked 32 wickets already with 3 fifers. 

Indian pace ace Jasprit Bumrah just like Ashwin has 32 wickets with 2 fifers. His best of 6/45 came during the Vizag Test against England to help India win the game. Veteran star Ravindra Jadeja too has been in top form scoring 318 runs which includes a century. With the ball the left-arm spinner has picked 24 wickets with the best of 5/41 coming in front of his home fans in Rajkot against England.
