Lords to host World Test Championship 2023-25 final; Check out date, ticket details and more

Currently, Rohit Sharma's India tops the 2023-25 cycle with a 68.51 point percentage while defending champions Australia are second with 62.5 per cent.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday (August 3) revealed the dates for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2024-25 final. The ultimate Test will be played at the iconic Lord’s in London from June 11 to 15. A Reserve Day has also been allotted on June 16 if required.

"The ICC World Test Championship Final has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar and we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2025 edition," ICC CEO Geoff Allardice said.

It will be the first time that Lords hosting the WTC final. Southampton was the venue for the inaugural edition in 2021 and The Oval in 2023, which were won by New Zealand and Australia respectively. Notably, India were the runners-up both times.

India, Australia are again in race for the final spot 

The final will be played between the top two teams in the standings at the end of the 2024-25 cycle. Currently, Rohit Sharma tops the chart with a 68.51 point percentage while defending champions Australia are second with 62.5 per cent. 

New Zealand (50.0), England (45.0) and South Africa (38.89), who are placed third, fourth and fifth positions respectively, are also in contention for a place in the one-off contest. Bangladesh, who recently achieved a historic 2-0 win over Pakistan, have moved up to the sixth position in the points table.

CEO Allardice said tickets for the showpiece encounter would be in high demand and urged fans to register their interest to ensure they don't miss out.
