History was scripted in Rawalpindi as Bangladesh won their first-ever Test series against Pakistan. The visiting side came into the game on the back of the ten-wicket win in the previous game. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Litton Das, and Hasan Mahmud were the stars with the bat and ball in the historic Test series win.

Bangladesh needed just 143 runs to win on the final day with ten wickets in hand. The rain had forced an early finish to the day with the visitors being placed at 42/0 from 7 overs. Opener Zakir Hasan had powered his team to a good start with the bat.

The loss now means that Pakistan is the first team to be eliminated from the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle. There will be some tough questions asked to Shan Masood and the rest of the Pakistani side after this huge loss. The very next series for Pakistan is at home versus England. The last time England had toured Pakistan the visitors had won the series 3-0.

Bangladesh create history in Rawalpindi

It was a sunny day in Rawalpindi with the two sides coming to take the field. Pakistan would have hoped for a few early wickets to boost their morale and claim an unlikely win. Zakir Hasan on the other hand began with caution along with Shadman Islam as the pair saw out the good balls and put the bad ones away.

Mir Hamza got the first wicket of the day when he dismissed Zakir Hasan with a brilliant ball. Khurram Shahzad struck the next blow for Pakistan as he got the scalp of Shadman Islam to reduce the visitors to 70 for 2.

Najmul Shanto and Mominul Haque then took the team to lunch at 122/2. At that stage, Bangladesh were just 63 runs from a historic series win over Pakistan. Just after lunch, Agha Salman got the big wicket of Shanto for 38.

Leg spinner Abrar Ahmed dismissed Haque for 34 with the visitors still needing 32 runs for a win. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim showed their experience and class as the pair batted for 12 overs to take the team home. It was former skipper Shakib Al Hasan who hit the winning runs when he smashed a four off Abrar Ahmed to create history.
