England brutally thrashed the newbies USA by 10 wickets in their last super-8 stage of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. With this win, England have also become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament. It was an all-important and must-win game for the defending champions to stay alive in the race for the semi-final spots.

Speaking of the action of the match, England won the toss and asked USA to bat first; batting first, the USA were bundled out at the score of just 115 runs in 18.5 overs, thanks to the amazing 19th over bowled by the star England bowler Chris Jordan in his birth country Barbados.

Jordan’s hat-trick and his four wickets scalped in the 19th over restricted the States to a very low total; he scalped 4 wickets just at the cost of 10 runs in 2.5 overs. Besides him, Adil Rashid and Sam Curran also claimed 2 wickets each, alongside 1 wicket each bagged by Reece Topley and Liam Livingstone.

Jos Buttler's one-man show takes England straight to semi-finals

While chasing the target, England’s star opening pair of Phil Salt and skipper Jos Buttler completely dominated and outmuscled the American bowling attack. Salt-Buttler duo stitched an unbeaten opening partnership of 117 runs in 9.4 overs to win the game for England by a mammoth margin of 10 wickets.
