Star India batter Suryakumar Yadav was the star performer with the bat for India in yesterday’s game against Afghanistan. He smashed 53 runs off just 28 balls, with 5 fours and 3 sixes. He also won the ‘Player of the Match award for his match-defining knock in India’s favour against the Afghans.

Besides that, the star of the day Suryakumar Yadav also made it to the social media headlines for his hilarious act in the post-match press conference. It all happened when a journalist in the press conference room mistook and called SKY mistakenly Siraj [Mohammed Siraj].

To this, Suryakumar Yadav came up with a hilarious reply saying, “Siraj toh nah hai… Siraj bhai khana kha rahe hain, (Siraj is not here. He is having food).”

Speaking of the action of the match, the men in blue skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to  bat first; batting first, the Indians posted a total of 181 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs courtesy of Surya’s 53 runs off just 28 balls. Besides him, former skipper Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant scored 24 and 20 runs, respectively.

Star pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi and star spinner Rashid Khan scalped 3 wickets each for Afghanistan in the first innings, alongside Naveen-ul-Haq.

While defending the target, the Indian bowling attack led by the star pacers Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah. Notably, Bumrah and Arshdeep scalped 3 wickets each for India. Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel scalped 1 wicket each for India, alongside 2 wickets bagged by Kuldeep Yadav.

Eventually, India won the match by 47 runs after bundling out Afghanistan just at 134 runs in the entire 20 overs.
