Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans were stunned as the Punjab Kings (PBKS) easily beat them to win the 49th Indian Premier League (IPL) match by 7 wickets. It was a game which was dominated from start to finish by the visiting side.

None of the players apart from Ruturaj Gaikwad did well for the hosts. Even the normally reliable fielding by the CSK team let them down as they committed one mistake after the other to lose the game with 13 balls to spare.

Here are the top 5 worst performances from the match:

5. Ravindra Jadeja – 2 runs from 4 balls and 0/22 from three overs

211

It was a day to forget with the bat and ball for the veteran CSK star as he scored just 2 runs before he was out LBW to Rahul Chahar. Even with the ball, Jadeja was ineffective as he bowled three overs and gave away 22 runs without picking a wicket.

4. Shardul Thakur – 1/48 from 3.4 overs

209

The return to the team wasn’t easy for Shardul Thakur as he was called into bowl due to Deepak Chahar walking off the field after just 2 balls. Shardul Thakur was hit to all parts of the ground as he gave away 48 runs with just the wicket of Rilee Rossouw added to his kitty.

3. Moeen Ali – 15 runs from 9 balls and 0/22 from two overs

212

On a wicket which was doing a lot with the ball for the spinners, it was surprising that Moeen Ali didn’t have an impact. The veteran England star scored 15 runs from 9 balls with one four and a six before going for 22 runs from his 2 overs.

2. MS Dhoni – 14 runs from 11 balls

With each and every passing game the anticipation for MS Dhoni to come out and bat hits a fever pitch. The former CSK skipper had a decent amount of time to bat and scored 14 runs off 11 balls with a four and one six which came in the final over of the innings. His decision not to run and give the strike to Daryl Mitchell though left everyone stunned.

1. Arshdeep Singh – 1/52 from four overs

Punjab Kings fans and Indian fans in particular will be uneasy after seeing the latest performance by Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm pacer bowled four overs gave away 52 runs and got the wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad in what was a forgettable performance with the ball.
