Rumours spread like wildfire about the Indian Cricket Team, and the recent proved it. While the Indian team travelled to the West Indies from the US for the 2nd stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, two players who were included in the travelling reserve were released from the team. Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan were with the team in the US, but for the second half of the tournament, only Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed will be travelling with the team.

India's batting coach Vikram Rathour shut down all the rumours and theories circulating regarding the release of two players, saying, 'That was always the plan.' The team might not need more than two travel reserves; hence, they released Gill and Khan.

"This was a plan from the beginning. When we come to the US, four players will come together. After that two will be released and two will travel with us to the West Indies. So, this plan was made from the beginning since the team was selected. This was planned so we are just following that," said Vikram Rathour.

India to play against Australia on June 24

While the T20 World Cup is almost reaching the second stage, qualified teams have been segregated into two groups for the upcoming matches. Group 1 has India, Australia, and Afghanistan until now, and one more team will join them after the end of the 1st round. Meanwhile, group 2 has England, the West Indies, the US, and South Africa.

So, India will be playing against Australia on June 24, which will be an exciting game for the fans, considering the ongoing rivalry between the two nations on the cricket field. While the Aussies have dominated the Indians in all the tournaments, it is time for the Men in Blue to take their revenge and beat them to qualify for the semi-finals. Moreover, no matter who wins the match, the game will be super contesting and fun to watch for the entire world.
