Rohit could be seen lying on the ground flanked by his teammates. The Indian skipper wrote “This picture epitomises how I’m feeling right now. So many words but can’t find the right ones to express what yesterday meant to me but I will, and I will share them, but right now I’m basking in a dream come true for a billion of us”

Emotions ran high as soon as India won the T20 World Cup ending their long wait for an ICC title. Just as the game ended, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20I cricket while getting his man of the match award. This was followed by Rohit Sharma doing the same while talking to the press.

During the press conference, Rohit Sharma said, “I wanted this badly. It's very hard to put it in words because that moment, I don't want to say what I was thinking and what was going in my mind, but it was a very emotional moment personally for me”

Speaking about Rahul Dravid, the Indian skipper said “"More than any one of us, I think he deserved that trophy. What he has done for Indian cricket for the past 20-25 years, I think this was the only thing that was missing in his cabinet. I am very happy with all of us on behalf of the entire team that we could actually do this for him. You saw how proud he was and how excited he was”

Team India now will travel to Zimbabwe for a five T20I series under the captaincy of Shubman Gill. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could next be seen playing for India during the Sri Lankan ODI series towards the end of July in a short series.
