Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was celebrating the massive T20 World Cup win like the rest of the nation. The Indian side had waited a long time to get their hands on an ICC title that happened against South Africa on Saturday in Barbados.
Rahul Dravid who is set to quit as the coach of the Indian team was lauded by the Indian PM himself in a series of tweets. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli who announced their T20I retirements were also praised by the Indian PM on X.

Taking to social media platform X, PM Narendra Modi wrote “Spoke to the Indian cricket team and congratulated them on their exemplary success at the T20 World Cup. They have shown excellent skill and spirit throughout the tournament. Each player’s commitment is very motivating”

Rohit Sharma had called time on his T20I career just moments after his teammate Virat Kohli had done at the end of the game. The former Indian skipper was the best batter in the game having scored 76 runs with the bat to help India reach a competitive total on the board.

It is also learned that the Indian PM had praised, Jasprit Bumrah for his bowling efforts and spoke to each and every member of the team.
