In just two weeks, eight teams will witness fight for the first ICC title of the year. Pakistan are set to host the 2025 ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, with India set to play their matches in Dubai. All eight nations have named their Champions Trophy 2025 Team Squad. Team India will be led by Rohit Sharma, while hosts Pakistan will be led by Mohammad Rizwan.

The first game of the tournament will witness hosts Pakistan face off against New Zealand. Team India begins their campaign with a game against Bangladesh on 20th February. Pakistan head into the tournament as the defending champions. The last tournament was played in 2017, which was won by Pakistan by beating India in the finals by 180 runs. 

Afghanistan are marking their first appearance in the tournament and will be looking to make a huge impact. West Indies and Sri Lanka, who have won the tournament before, have failed to qualify for this edition. England are the only team in the current pool of teams who haven’t won the ICC Champions Trophy.

India(IND)

Rohit Sharma will be leading India for the fifth time in an ICC event and will look to add yet another feather to his cap. Jasprit Bumrah is a huge question mark for the tournament after his injury in Australia. Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami, who marked his return to international cricket, is set to be one of the key players for India.

Pakistan(PAK) 

Defending champions Pakistan have entrusted Mohammad Rizwan with the task of leading the side during the upcoming tournament. Fakhar Zaman got a recall after Saim Ayub’s injury into the Champions Trophy 2025 Team squad. Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah will be some of the big stars to look out for during the campaign.

One of the glaring omissions from Bangladesh's team is that of Litton Das, owing to his poor form. Shakib Al Hasan hasn’t been picked, which spells an end to his international career. Mushfiqur Rahim is the only veteran star in the team, with some exciting youngsters.

New Zealand(NZ)

Veteran star Mitchell Santner has been named the captain of the New Zealand side ahead of the tournament. Kane Williamson is set to play as a pure batter after being in the Champions Trophy 2025 New Zealand team squad.

Australia(AUS) 

Defending ODI World Cup winners and two-time champions Australia will be led by Pat Cummins. The 31-year-old will be looking to add the Champions Trophy tournament to their trophy cabinet. The Aussies have won the tournament twice in 2006 and 2009 under the captaincy of Ricky Ponting.

One of the big-name teams that is yet to win the ICC Champions Trophy tournament is England. Brendon McCullum, who has been given the England coaching job in the white-ball formats as well, will be heading into the tournament with a view to helping his team win their first Champions Trophy title.

The first ever winners of the tournament in its earliest avatar were South Africa, who clinched the title in 1998. Temba Bavuma has been named the captain of the side and will want to lead his side to the second title.

One of the fastest-rising nations in ODI cricket, Afghanistan will be led by Hasmatullah Shahidi. Afghanistan will be one of the teams to watch out for, with Rashid Khan, Allah Ghazanfar, Noor Ahmed, and Mohammad Nabi set to play a key role.
