The Indian team arrived at Nagpur ahead of the ODI series against England. The series will commence on February 6 and will be a good practice series ahead of the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. India are one of the tournament's favourites and wouldn't want to lessen their chances.
Meanwhile, right before the series, former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen commented on the senior Indian players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ahead of the Champions Trophy. He believes that the experience these two players carry is enough to make them the legends of the game.
"These guys don’t need to prove anything to anybody, they are legends of the game. They are wonderful entertainers. 35 and 36 [actually 36 and 37], these guys have another couple of years. He is the best chaser that you ever had in this country. There is no single batter in the world who has chased and won more games for the country than Virat Kohli. When he turns up, he’s gotta play," said Kevin Pietersen.
India were victorious in the T20I series against England, winning by 4-1. The last game was quite harsh for the English team as they lost the game by 150 runs. The visitors were all-out for just 97 runs while chasing a target of 248 runs. Abhishek Sharma's cracking century broke the confidence of the opponents.

The guy was so good at the start: Kevin Pietersen
Pietersen went on to praise the India skipper Rohit Sharma and spoke about the kind of batter he was and how he has improved now. The former player revealed that he said a long time ago that Rohit would be successful one day because he is a brilliant batter. Rohit will have a huge impact in the upcoming ICC event because he is the opener, and the team will be reliant on him.
"You’ve seen that throughout his career, he was one of the first batters that went to Australia because he was one of the guys that turned up, decided if it’s gonna be short and you’re bowling 140 to me, I pull you off my nose and I’m hitting you for sixes. The guy was so good at the start and has continued to be great ever since," added Pietersen.
