'I feel a bit uncomfortable with the team' - Ravichandran Ashwin gives his opinion on India's updated Champions Trophy 2025 squad

Ravichandran Ashwin gave his opinion on India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad on his YouTube channel. The former Indian spinner could not understand the reason behind picking five spinners in the squad. He wanted to know from the selectors if they were expecting the ball to turn in Dubai and felt a bit uncomfortable with the team.

Ashwin posted the video on his YouTube Channel and gave his opinion on the updated Champions Trophy 2025 squad of the Indian team. The former Indian player did not get the idea behind going with five spinners in Dubai. While he could understand the motive of taking 3-4 spinners, Ashwin couldn't get the reason behind choosing 5 spinners.

"What I don't understand is the number of spinners we are taking to Dubai. 5 spinners and we have made Yashasvi Jaiswal sit out. Yeah, I understand that we take 3 or 4 spinners for a tour. But 5 spinners in Dubai? I don't know," said Ashwin on his YouTube channel.

'Are you expecting the ball to turn in Dubai?' - Ravichandran Ashwin to the Indian management and selectors

Ravi felt Kuldeep Yadav would walk into the side and spoke about Varun Chakravarthy's form. He felt either of them would be in the XI. However, he wanted to know if the management and the selectors were expecting the ball to turn in Dubai.

"I don't think there is any doubt that Kuldeep Yadav will walk into the team. So how will you make space for Varun? Is he bowling well? Of course. Either you bring in Varun and Kuldeep as a duo, which I feel would be good. But my question is, in Dubai, are you expecting the ball to turn? I feel a bit uncomfortable with the team," added Ashwin.

The star player claimed he was a bit uncomfortable with the team as it had many spinners. India's updated squad had two changes. Harshit Rana came in Jasprit Bumrah's place who got ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025. Likewise, Varun replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal due to his current form.
