The West Indian Cricket Coach, Darren Sammy, invited the Indian Team to their dressing room after losing the Delhi Test and the series 0-2. Gautam Gambhir spoke to everyone in the West Indian dressing room and noted how unique the Men in Maroon are.

Gambhir compared how the West Indian team must play for a purpose, while other teams play cricket just for their love for the sport. He felt the need for the current players to inspire the future generations of cricketers.

"When I talk about international cricket, many teams play because they love the game, and there are very few teams who have, like West Indies, a purpose to play this game. You have a purpose — purpose is always more important than love. And the purpose, when I look at you guys, I feel that you guys can inspire the next generation of West Indies cricket," said Gautam Gambhir.

The Indian Head Coach added that the World Cricket needs a strong West Indian Cricket Team more than the other way around. He felt a solid Test team is needed from the West Indies like they had in their golden period from 1970s to the 1990s.

"I want to say one thing, and that is something which I've always believed in. You might feel that I'm saying it just for the heck of it, but this comes straight from the heart. West Indies cricket doesn't need world cricket; world cricket needs West Indies cricket – remember that – and (as) a good, solid Test nation. It's not the other way round," Gambhir added.
