Team India has hit the nets in Dubai as they prepare for Champions Trophy 2025 which begins this week. Former India skipper Virat Kohli was among the first to train along with few other teammates. Reports carried by Times of India reveal that Kohli was seen carrying ‘food from popular joint’ after the session.

BCCI had put out few rules and one of the biggest rule was that ‘none of the players can carry their own personal staff during a tour without permission by the board’. According to reports carried by the Times of India, Kohli was seen speaking to the manager for a few minutes.

India’s former skipper had taken part in a huge net session that last for nearly three hours. TOI reported that, “Paper bag contained few boxes of Kohli’s post session meals.” TOI’s report also stated that other players had packed their kit bags while Kohli had ‘saved a box for the road’.

Rishabh Pant’s injury adds more woes to India’s preparation

Team India got a huge scare on Sunday when wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was injured during training. The incident happened as Hardik Pandya was batting and one of his shots struck Pant on his knees. The 27-year-old went down after being struck as the medical team soon tended to him. Pandya walked over to Pant and asked about his well-being before the session resumed.

The scare lasted for a few minutes as Rishabh Pant was seen batting in the nets without much discomfort. The 27-year-old was picked as the first choice wicketkeeper in the ODI squad. Pant though didn’t get a chance to play in any of three games against England as KL Rahul was the preferred choice behind the stumps.

India’s first match is against Bangladesh on Thursday followed by the game against Pakistan on Sunday. Men in Blue will play all their games in Dubai after the PCB agreed to the Hybrid model due to India’s reluctance to tour Pakistan. Skipper Rohit Sharma was also part of the net session in front of a few fans who cheered on their favourite Indian cricket star.
