In what seems to be scary for Team India and Indian cricket fans, the star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant got hit on his knee while practicing ahead of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The incident happened when Pant was practicing at the ICC Academy in Dubai. Pant’s recent injury has also raised injury concerns for India ahead of the marquee international tournament.
In a video that is circulating on social media as soon as it was shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter), the Southpaw is visibly crying in a lot of pain. It seemed that the star wicketkeeper-batter hurt his knee after the ball from Hardik Pandya hit him.
In the viral video, the support staff are taking off Pant’s pads before the physio takes over the charge to come up with an ice pack for him.

Notably, the selectors included Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul as the two wicketkeeping choices in India’s squad for the Champions Trophy 2025. The veteran Karnataka wicketkeeper-batter is being considered as a frontrunner in the race for the first-choice wicketkeeper for India in the marquee international tournament.
The Men in Blue will start their journey in the tournament with their campaign opener against Bangladesh on February 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The campaign opener will be followed by India’s high-octane clash against the arch-rivals and the defending champions, Pakistan on February 23.
Notably, India had already faced an injury scare as the star pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the tournament due to the back injury that he sustained during the fifth Test of BGT 2024-25 against Australia. Later, he was replaced by young KKR pacer Harshit Rana in India’s squad.
