‘Comeback ho toh aisa varna na ho’ – Fans laud Ishan Kishan for scoring century versus India B in Duleep Trophy 2024

Indian Cricket star Ishan Kishan scored a thrilling century for India C in the game against India B. The left-handed batter hit 111 runs from 126 balls with 14 boundaries and three huge sixes. This is his second ton in domestic cricket after scoring a brilliant 100 during the Buchi Babu tournament. 

Kishan missed the first game of Duleep Trophy 2024 due to a reported injury. His return to form comes at the right time as the selectors are yet to pick the team for the 2nd Test vs Bangladesh. 

India C had reached 300 for the loss of three wickets from 67 overs. Mukesh Kumar had picked two wickets while Navdeep Saini had picked one. At the time of writing Baba Indrajith was batting on 73 runs from 133 balls. 

Ishan Kishan serves notice to selectors

After a tough start to the 2024 season, Ishan Kishan is finally at his best. The 26-year-old had lost his BCCI central contract for not playing in domestic cricket. This was followed by a woeful performance for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 season. Lack of form with the bat meant that Ishan Kishan wasn’t considered for selection for the T20 World Cup. 

The youngster made his comeback during the Buchi Babu 2024 tournament for Jharkand where he scored a century. There were massive speculations after Ishan Kishan had missed the first game of the Duleep Trophy 2024 season. 

The BCCI for its part later clarified that Ishan Kishan had sustained a groin injury while playing the Buchi Babu tournament. On Thursday, the left-handed batter began in an aggressive frame of mind. 

Post lunch, Kishan started to find the boundaries with ease as he put the pressure on India B bowlers. The batter took a special liking to Washington Sundar who was smashed for runs. By the time he was out bowled by Mukesh Kumar, his stand with Baba Indrajith was worth 189 runs from 248 balls. 

Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad who had got himself injured in the morning session was back on the field. The right-handed batter had hurt himself and retired hurt himself when on 4. The 27-year-old came out and struck two more fours much to the relief of the fans as he was batting with no discomfort on the 1st day.
