Indian star batter Shubman Gill turned 25 on Sunday and threw a massive bash to celebrate it. One of the huge names present was none other than Ishan Kishan. The 26-year-old can be seen at the DJ console singing along to a popular number sung by Yo-Yo-Honey Singh.

Kishan wasn’t part of the first round of Duleep Trophy matches that concluded over the weekend. Shubman Gill on the other hand saw his India A team lose their opening encounter by 75 runs.

Shubman Gill wary of Bangladeshi threat

Indian batter Shubman Gill is wary of the threat that Bangladesh brings to the table. The visitors have just won their first-ever Test series against Pakistan. Najmul Shanto and his men beat Pakistan with a 2-0 margin to win a rare series away from home.

During his chat with Jio Cinema, Gill said “I don’t think you can underestimate any international side. The kind of cricket Bangladesh has played in the last couple of months, especially in Pakistan, has been impressive”

The Indian batter also praised the Bangladeshi fast bowlers and said “Their fast bowlers and the way their middle-order batters have absorbed pressure shouldn’t be disregarded. So, I believe it will be an interesting and intriguing contest.”

When asked to speak about his form ahead of the series, Gill said “Quite often, when you're playing in a different position, everyone knows your potential, but you still have to prove yourself."

The Indian star who has replaced Pujara at the number three spot said “In the initial matches when I played as number three, I couldn't perform well – against West Indies and South Africa. I was getting good starts, scoring 20s and 30s, but I wasn't able to convert them. When I returned, I knew I had to turn these performances around. Moving forward, my goal is to convert my fifties into big hundreds,"

The young batter said the series against England changed the tide and boosted his confidence. "That was a big confidence boost for me, especially after losing the first Test match. Quite a few players were unavailable, so there was pressure on us to win the series”

“I had never played five Test matches before, so it was a good experience and exciting to feel that intensity. Even after getting breaks following two Test matches, we never dropped that intensity," Shubman Gill said while speaking to Jio Cinema.
