BCCI set to include 1 RTM card with 5 retentions ahead of IPL 2025 auctions: Reports

The Board of Control for Cricket in India set to announce its rules for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2025 auctions set to take place in a few months.

With the speculations rising reports are doing the rounds that the BCCI is set to announce its decision for the upcoming IPL 2025 tournament. According to reports, the board could allow five players to be retained ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. In further news, there is also 1 Right To Match (RTM) card that is expected to be allowed. 

Just a few days earlier there were reports that 5 players could be retained. There was no clarity on the amount of Indian and overseas players that can be retained. Even the RTM card wasn’t part of the reports doing the rounds. 

This latest development leaves both the teams and the fans with a new sense of happiness. The new rules could see their favourite players continue to be part of their current respective sides.

Will MS Dhoni play IPL 2025?

There is massive growing optimism amongst the Chennai Super Kings fans. With the new rules that are set to be played, there is a chance fans could see MS Dhoni one more time. The former Chennai Super Kings skipper hasn’t made any decision yet about his future in the IPL. 

The former India and CSK skipper had left the decision open and had said that he would take a call post the retention rules were announced. Chennai Super Kings on the other hand will have a huge choice to make ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. 

Meanwhile, Dwayne Bravo who was with Chennai Super Kings for 12 years has joined KKR as their new mentor. The decision came to light after the former West Indian skipper called time on his career few days ago. 

Venky Mysore who happens to be the CEO of KKR had put out a statement which read “DJ Bravo joining us is an exciting development. His relentless drive to win, along with his vast experience and deep knowledge, will greatly benefit our franchise and players."

The former CSK star took to social media and put out a statement for the Chennai fans which read “Just want to take the time to give a special thank you to the CSK management for giving me their blessings. To the fans of CSK in Chennai and all around the world, I want your blessings. I know this is a sad moment but I want you to continue supporting me. Lots of love”
