The third game of the Kerala Cricket League saw Calicut Globstars taking on Aries Kollam Sailors. It was Aries Kollam Sailors who won the match by 8 wickets with 20 balls left to play. Former Chennai Super Kings pacer KM Asif was the best bowler for Kollam with figures of 3/31 from his 4 overs. 

The best ball of the day was bowled by KM Asif to get rid of Calicut skipper Rohan Kunnummal for 6. The incident happened in the 2nd ball of the third over as KM Asif bowled an inswinger and castled Rohan. The batter was in complete shock with the amount of swing that the ball offered. 

31-year-old KM Asif has played in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings and was also part of the Rajasthan Royals unit. Asif has played a total of 7 matches and claimed 7 wickets with a best of 2/42 with an economy rate of 10.42 runs per over. 

Aries Kollam Sailors post an easy win 

After the early loss of Rohan Kunnummal, the Calicut side lost the wickets of M Ajinas and Liston Augustine who scored one run each. Opener Arun and Salman Nizar then added 29 runs for the 4th wicket before Nizar was out for 18. 

Former RCB star Sachin Baby then struck twice when he dismissed Pallam Anfal for 1 and Akhil Scaria for 2. The best batter for Calicut was opener Arun who top scored with 38 runs from 37 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Calicut ended their innings at 104/9 from their 20 overs. 

Chasing a mere 105 to win Kollam opener Arun Poulouse was out for 10 while skipper Sachin Baby was out for 19. Opener Abhishek Nair top scored with an unbeaten 61 from 47 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes. Vatshal Govind was the other not-out batter scoring 16 off 23 balls with 2 fours. 

The second game on Tuesday is witnessing Alleppey taking on Trivandrum. Both teams had begun the campaign with a win on Monday and the game on Tuesday will be for each team to make an early dash for the top spot in the table.
