Match Preview
The final game of the Border Gavaskar Series has reached the famous Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The series has come to its finale with Australia needing to draw the game to secure the series and win the BGT for the first time in a decade. For India there is a lot riding on the game with Rohit Sharma’s captaincy Test and career on the line. Team India also have to win the game to keep their flimsy hopes of making it to the WTC finals alive.
Australia (AUS) began the series with a loss in Perth before winning the next match in Adelaide. The third game of the series was a draw in Brisbane followed by the massive heist that saw Pat Cummins and his side win the game in Melbourne by 184 runs. Mitchell Marsh has been dropped for the game and this has given Beau Webster a chance to finally make his Test debut.
India (IND) on the other hand are struggling with their batting. The form displayed by Rohit Sharma has been beyond miserable with just 31 runs so far in this series. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 82 and 84 during the MCG Test match to show his amazing form. The likes of Virat Kohli too will be under the lens after yet again falling to the outside off stump line. Pacer Akash Deep is out of the game as confirmed by Gautam Gambhir due to stiff back.

Pitch Report
Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) has traditionally been a pitch where plenty of runs can be scored. The team winning the toss will want to bat first as the track tends to break in the final few days of the match to bring spinners into the equation. The best time to bat is the first three days of the game with days two and three being the best time to score runs. Seamers will get good movement with the new ball and the short boundaries mean that it promises to be a high scoring encounter.
Dream 11 Australia vs India Predicted XI
Australia – Sam Konstas, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Alex Carey, Beau Webster, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland
India –Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna
Dream11 Top Picks for Australia vs India
Pat Cummins – Australian skipper Pat Cummins has been at the forefront both with the bat and ball during the previous games against India. The 31-year-old has picked 20 wickets in the series so far and also scored 149 runs with the bat with an average of 21.3. in the last game Cummins scored 49 and 41 with the bat and also picked 3 wickets in each innings.
Jasprit Bumrah – The hopes for India winning the SCG Test and retaining the BGT rests on the shoulders of Jasprit Bumrah. The 30-year-old has been the best bowler in the series with 30 wickets. Bumrah picked 9 wickets in the previous match which also included his third fifer of the series in the 2nd innings of the MCG Test.
Dream 11 Budget Picks for Australia vs India
Steve Smith – Australian batter Steve Smith made a poor star to the series with the bat. The 35-year-old has made a roaring return to form scoring two centuries in two games to show his class with the bat. Smith returns to his home ground to play India in the fifth and final game of the series. In 11 games at the SCG, Smith has scored 1059 runs with an average of 70 with four tons and 7 fifties and hasn’t been dismissed for a duck.
Nitish Kumar Reddy – The best find for India during the current tour of Australia has been young Nitish Kumar Reddy. The 21-year-old has scored 294 runs with an average of 49 which also includes his 114-run knock during the MCG Test match. Nitish has bowled well on occasions and has picked three wickets so far with a best of 1/21.
Dream11 Players to avoid for Australia vs India
Beau Webster – 31-year-old all-rounder Beau Webster is set to make his Test debut for the hosts in place of Mitchell Marsh. Webster has played a total of 93 first-class matches and scored over 5000 runs with 12 centuries and 24 fifties. The Aussie all-rounder has also picked 148 wickets with two fifers. Webster can bowl medium pace as well as off-spin that shows the variety he brings to the table.
Rohit Sharma – The game in Sydney is a huge one for Rohit Sharma who is fighting for his Test future. If India fails to win the game and loses the series it could very well be the end of Rohit’s Test captaincy as well as his future in the longest format of the game. Rohit Sharma has scored a mere 31 runs and the 37-year-old will want to start the year on a high and show the doubters he still has the will to play Test cricket for India.
