Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is under huge pressure to score runs with the bat ahead of the final Test match in Sydney. Till now, the 37-year-old has scored just 31 runs from 5 innings he batted with an over all average of 6.2. In the first two games of his Australian tour, Rohit batted in the middle-order but decided to revert to his favorite opening spot for the MCG Test match.
On Thursday, Rohit came out to bat as the waiting media were eager to grab his emotions. Indian skipper looked the other way as he was seen walking to the nets to get ready to face the Australians. There are rumors that Rohit could retire from the Test format after the final Test in Sydney.

After the fifth Test match, India will directly play the five-match series in England. If India wins this Test and Sri Lanka beats Australia then Rohit Sharma and Co will travel to England early. Team India will then be able to take on South Africa in the massive WTC final game that will be played in June.
Aakash Chopra ponders about Rohit Sharma’s tactics ahead of SCG Test
Former India opener during his YouTube show has wondered if Rohit Sharma will play the final game in Sydney. The 47-year-old said “Is Rohit Sharma going to take the decision that is being discussed? Will he drop himself in the team's interest? Is that possible? That will be a big talking point because, in my opinion, making Shubman Gill sit out is not a great thing,"
Aakash Chopra also said “It happened for the first time in his captaincy that he kept his interest above the team's interest. He felt he should open because opening is right for him. The moment you start thinking like that, you need to make a lot of changes, which don't help the team and that didn't happen."
“So will he take that call that he should sit out? I am not so sure. I feel Rohit will play this match. We cricketers learn from our childhoods that we shouldn't accept defeat and that we can turn it around. We know how to get up and run after falling. That might be the thought process," Aakash Chopra further added.
