Test cricket’s biggest clash of 2024 is upon us as Australia and India battle it out in the five-match series starting on Friday. For the home team, their biggest motivation is to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy, a feat which they haven’t been able to accomplish for ten years. Australia (AUS) has played just five Test matches this year with their game coming against New Zealand in March. India (IND) is coming into the first Test match on the back of their worst form in Test cricket. Rohit Sharma’s men lost the Test series at home to New Zealand with a 3-0 margin. Team India will be led by Jasprit Bumrah for the first match as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are not available for the game.

Perth is known for its bouncy playing surface and as per the pictures doing the round there will good offering of grass as well. One can expect the skipper to win the toss to bat first see out the first few sessions and grind it out with the bat. Once the sun comes out it will be a great pitch to bat on the 2nd and 3rd day.
