The Assam Cricket Association suspended four cricketers due to corruption allegations on the 12th of December during SMAT 2025. Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi, and Abhishek Thakuri were banned from taking part in the remainder of the tournament. An FIR has been filed regarding the case and a criminal proceeding is likely to take place.

Sanatan Das opened up on the issue in an official statement. The ACA's secretary confirmed that BCCI's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit started enquiry after getting the information. Das claimed that ACA has given a nod to criminal proceedings after finding misconsuct, putting the integrity of the sport to shame.

"After the allegations came to light, the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit of the BCCI conducted an enquiry. The ACA has also initiated criminal proceedings. Prima facie, there appears to be their involvement in serious misconduct, affecting the integrity of the sport," Sanatan Das claimed in ACA's statement.

All four Assamese cricketers banned till the outcome of the investigation

He further confirmed that more details regarding the issue will be provided after the conclusion of the investigation. Till then, all four players will be suspended from playing any form of cricket. ACA has directed its district boards to ensure the order and asked them to inform clubs and academies to be aware of its decision.

"They have been suspended to curtail any scope of further deterioration of the situation. The suspension will continue till the final outcome of the investigation, and/or any further decision of the Association. All district associations have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the order, and to inform clubs and academies under their jurisdiction of the ACA's decision," ACA's statement confirmed.
