They followed it up with a 52-run win in the final over South Africa Women to win their maiden ICC Title. Over the years, India has won many such titles, mostly in Men's Cricket, which had great players instrumental behind massive wins.

Deepti Sharma joined the elite list of Indian cricketers to have won the Player of the Tournament awards in the ICC World Cup Tournaments. The experienced player had a good tournament both as a batter and as a bowler, which led to her winning the award.

With the ball, she finished as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, including a fifer in the final. Deepti scored 215 runs in 7 innings at an average of 30.71 and a strike rate of 90.33, including 3 fifties. With the ball, she claimed 22 wickets in 9 innings, at an average of 20.40 and a strike rate of 22.18.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is the only Indian player to win three Player of the Tournament awards in three major ICC events. He achieved the feat of winning the Player of the Tournament award for the first time in the T20 World Cup in 2014, where he was the leading run-scorer.

In the following edition of the T20 World Cup in 2016, he won the Player of the Tournament award again by scoring 273 runs. However, his best of the lot was probably in the ODI World Cup in 2023, where he scored a whopping 765 runs to win the elusive award.

Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh won the Player of the Tournament award for his exceptional performance as a cricketer in the ODI World Cup in 2011. The star player was suffering from cancer during the tournament, but yet delivered the greatest performance of his career.

With the bat, he scored 362 runs in 8 innings at a sensational average of 90.50 and a strike rate of 86.19, including a hundred and 4 fifty-plus scores. With the ball, he claimed 15 wickets in 9 innings, at an average of 25.13 and a strike rate of 30.00.

Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar had a great tournament as a batter in the ODI World Cup in 2003. The legendary batter scored 673 runs in 11 innings, at an average of 61.18 and a strike rate of 89.25, including a hundred and 6 fifty-plus scores to his name in the tournament.

While India lost the final to Australia, Tendulkar performed well individually and set a new record for the most runs in a single edition of the ODI World Cup, which was surpassed by Virat in 2023.
