The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup was started in 1973, two years before the Men's World Cup started, but has been won by only four teams. Without a doubt, Women's Cricket has historically been dominated by one team - Australia. For the most part, England Women were the only major threat to the Australian Women in cricket.

Things have changed in the 21st century, where there are more challengers to England and Australia. England's last ICC tournament win came in the 2017 World Cup. In recent times, Australia's dominance has been challenged by some teams, who have shown the way to beat them on a given day in the big match.

List of all teams to have won the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup

India Women

In 2025, the Indian Women's team joined the elite league of teams to have won the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup. Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur and a collective effort from the team, the Indian Women managed to win their maiden ICC Title.

In the process, they became only the fourth cricket team to win a Women's Cricket World Cup. For the first time in 25 years, new champions emerged in the Women's Cricket World Cup.

New Zealand Women

New Zealand Women became only the third team to win the Women's Cricket World Cup and joined the top cricket teams in the world. In 2000, they shocked the Women's Cricket World by lifting the title in one of the most unexpected outcomes.

24 years later, New Zealand also became only the third team to win both the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup and the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, by winning the latter in 2024.

England Women

The England Women's cricket team is the second-best in the world. Women's Cricket has historically witnessed the rivalry between England Women and Australia Women. In 1973, England Women won the inaugural edition of the World Cup.

Their second title win came 20 years later in 1993. The English team took 16 more years to win their third World Cup in 2009 and claimed probably their best World Cup win, and their fourth title win in 2017.

Australia Women

The Australian Women's team is the undisputed greatest cricket team among women. They have a whopping six T20 World Cups and seven ODI World Cups to their name. In 1978, the Australian Women tasted their first major success. They followed it up in the two following editions in 1982 and 1988, respectively, to achieve a hat-trick of ICC Women's Cricket World Cup wins.

 Australia further won the titles in 1997 and 2005, which were their fourth and fifth title wins, respectively. In the 2010s, their only win came in 2013. They also won the title in 2022, which was their seventh and last World Cup win to date.
