Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved several milestones during his knock against the West Indies in the first innings of the Delhi 2025 Test. The Southpaw completed over 3000 runs in international cricket, smashed his 7th Test ton, and became one of the youngest to achieve it in terms of the number of innings and age. Jaiswal carried his bat at the end of the day, as he remained unbeaten at 173*(253).

Jaiswal, along with Sai Sudharsan, helped India to gain a huge advantage by the end of the first day of the second Test of the series. Jaiswal's unbeaten 173 and Susharsan's 87 helped India to score 318/2 by the end of the day. In the process, the Indian batter joined the elite list of cricketers to have scored 3000 runs at the highest level at a young age.

Sourav Ganguly (74 innings)

Sourav Ganguly was one of the finest batters in the second half of the 1990s, especially in ODIs, where he turned out to be a good run accumulator. The former Indian skipper opened in ODIs and batted in the middle order for a major part of his career. Early in his career, Ganguly made a name for himself in both Tests and ODIs.

The Southpaw got to the milestone of over 3000 runs in international cricket in 74 innings, which remained the second quickest for an Indian batter for over 27 years. A major part of Ganguly's runs in his career were in ODIs, which was his best format. He was a good batter in Tests too and played a key role in the transformation of the Indian team in the 2000s.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (71 innings)

Yashasvi Jaiswal recently reached the milestone, following his daddy hundred against the West Indies in the first innings of the Delhi Test 2025. The Indian opener remained unbeaten at 173*(253) by the end of the first day. In the process, he completed the milestone of over 3000 runs in international cricket at the age of just 23.

It was Jaiswal's 7th hundred, which is the second most for a batter at the highest level at the age of 23. He now has the joint most number of international hundreds for an opener, along with Graeme Smith. However, he fell short by 2 innings to equal the existing record, which was set way back in the 1970s by the then prodigy at a young age.

Sunil Gavaskar (69 innings)

Sunil Gavaskar holds the record for the least number of innings taken by an Indian batter to complete 3000 or more runs in international cricket. The former Indian batter had a great start to his career, scoring a whopping 774 runs in his very first Test series against the West Indies in their backyard, which is still the record for a debutant.

A majority of Gavaskar's runs at the highest level came in Tests. The star player reached the milestone of over 3000 runs in international cricket in just 69 innings. Even after over 50 years, the record has stayed intact, which is a testament for his legacy.
