James Harden and Stephen Curry (Source: Bleacher Report)
James Harden, a guard for the Los Angeles Clippers, created NBA history on Friday night when he made his third three-pointer of the game against the Houston Rockets, his old team. Harden matched NBA Hall of Famer Ray Allen for the most three-pointers ever made in NBA history with that three-pointer. Harden will probably overtake Allen for second on that record when he plays the Utah Jazz on Sunday night. However, Harden believes that when he makes three-pointer number 2,974, he will be at the top of the list.
Before the season, James Harden discussed how he rose up in the NBA's all-time three-point shooting chart with ESPN's Shams Charania. When Charania pointed out that Harden is only 34 three-pointers away from second place on that list, Harden promptly corrected the NBA news anchor. Charania was unaware that Harden didn't consider Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who is at the top of that list, to be a player.
This remark was not intended as a knock on the four-time NBA champion, even though James Harden and Curry have been competitors throughout their careers. Harden is only pointing out that Steph is completely distinct from everyone else who has ever set foot on the court. This is demonstrated by the fact that Curry presently has more than 800 three-pointers than Harden and every other player in the National Basketball Association.

Stephen Curry is regarded as the league's best three-point shooter
It is indisputable that James Harden, Stephen Curry, and his peers like Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson have played a significant role in transforming the game of basketball, even if Harden or anyone else can never catch up to Curry, who is, incidentally, not slowing down. As an example, half of the players who rank in the top twenty of the NBA's all-time three-point shooting list are still playing a game.
Stephen Curry will always be regarded as the league's best three-point shooter, but Harden also gets his bouquets for transforming the sport. James Harden is the player who has made or taken the most isolated three-pointers. In reality, the Houston Rockets almost defeated the Golden State Warriors in 2018 because of his ability to manage the ball at the top of the key and lead an offense on his own, whether it was by attacking the basket to score or assist or by making step-back three-pointers. Harden topped the NBA in three-pointers made annually for three years starting with that season.
