Jayson Tatum took a microphone to address the thrilled audience after the Boston Celtics were presented with their championship rings, which were adorned with diamonds, emeralds, and parquets. This was before the raising of the team's 18th banner to the rafters.
Jayson Tatum encouraged the crowd that crowded TD Garden for the Celtics' first important game since their historic 18th championship win against Dallas in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, "Enjoy this moment together." "Let's repeat it."
Boston Celtics then assembled in the same spot as many of their forebears and hoisted the "2024 World Champions" banner over the packed rafters. To begin their quest to become the first Celtics team to repeat since Bill Russell and John Havlicek won the team's 11th title in 13 years in 1969, Tatum made a 3-pointer minutes later when they stepped the court for the season opener against the New York Knicks.

The pregame ceremony was attended by six-time champion Bob Cousy and 1981 NBA Finals MVP Cedric Maxwell, who came out to applaud before Paul Pierce, who was joined by fellow 2008 winners Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, pulled out the 2024 trophy. The championship rings were arranged around it on a table. The Celtics' social media crew recorded Deuce wearing Jayson's championship ring during the ring ceremony, displaying the bling with pride. Soon after, the father-son moment video went viral, causing fans to respond in droves on social media.

A few times during the coaches' and players' introductions, the crowd erupted, especially for former coach and current basketball operations president Brad Stevens; coach Joe Mazzulla, who kissed the floor as he walked out to pick up his ring from Silver; Kristaps Porzingis, who will be sidelined for at least the next few months due to ankle surgery he had done during the offseason; and Brown and Tatum, the team's two stars, who were introduced last.
