The Chicago Sky lost badly to the Washington Mystics on Wednesday, September 11, falling behind 89-58. Chicago lost by an unquestionably disheartening margin, snapping a two-game winning run. Even though she recently had surgery to repair her damaged wrist, Angel Reese still had an impact on this game, albeit from the bench.

During one of the game's timeouts, the rookie superstar got into a heated argument with Sky star Chennedy Carter. Angel Reese seemed to have been encouraging her teammate throughout the blowout, a moment that rapidly gained widespread attention on social media.

In any case, Carter who leads Chicago Sky in scoring this season did all in her power to lead her side to victory in this one. In just 24 minutes of play, she ended with a game-high 16 points on 7 of 13 shooting, two rebounds, and an assist.

The Sky is now 13-23 as a result of this loss. They are still in the eighth and final seed going into the WNBA Playoffs, but the Atlanta Dream and the Mystics are chasing them closely. With four games left in the regular season, Chicago is now only one game ahead of both team. Before the Sky's matchup with Phoenix Mercury, in which Chicago was defeated 93-88, Riley used her Instagram Stories to consider what an amazing season she has had.

Angel Reese won't be able to play till WNBA playoffs

The 22-year-old forward's wrist injury, which required surgery, has kept him out for the remainder of the year. Angel Reese is unlikely to return even if Sky make the playoffs, despite the fact that they still have two games remaining following their matchup with the Mercury and are vying for a postseason berth.

On September 10, Angel Reese had a successful surgical procedure for her shattered left wrist. She had previously stated that she wouldn't be able to resume her regular schedule for six weeks after the procedure. With 24, Reese also owns the record for the most double-doubles by a rookie in WNBA in a single season. Her stats for the campaign were 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game at the end.
