In a match between the teams with the best records in each conference, Jordan Clarkson of the Utah Jazz, one of the leading contenders for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award, lit up the scoreboard with 40 points off the bench to help the Jazz defeat the Philadelphia 76ers. Being a reliable sixth man for the Jazz, Clarkson is the clear favorite to win the 2020–21 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award. In NBA history, we have seen very rare games from coming off the bench one such player was Larry Bird. During the game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Larry Bird came off the bench and scored 47 points.

There were great hopes for Darius Miles' NBA future when the Los Angeles Clippers picked him with the third overall choice in the 2001 NBA Draft. However, his NBA career fell short of those expectations. He did have moments of exceptional skills as well. In his sixth NBA season, Miles scored 47 points against the Denver Nuggets in a four-point defeat, recording one of his best performances while playing for the Portland Trail Blazers. In his forty minutes off the bench, Miles made 19 of his 33 field goals.

4. Mike Woodson - 48 points

Mike Woodson spent 11 seasons in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers, LA Clippers, Houston Rockets, Kansas City, Sacramento Kings, and New York Knicks. He played well off the bench during some of his best years with the Kings, particularly in the 1982–1983 campaign. In 32 minutes off the bench, he scored 48 points Houston Rockets.

3. Mike Dunleavy - 48 points

Mike DunleavyMike Dunleavy broke Cazzie Russell's record of 46 points off the bench in a game on December 6, 1980, when he scored a career-high 48 points off the bench against the Denver Nuggets. Eventually, Dunleavy began playing for the Rockets in the 1981 NBA Finals. He even helped the team win the fourth game, scoring 28 points to equalize the series at two points, before Boston went on to win the 1981 championship and two more games.

2. Nick Anderson- 50 points

Nick Anderson played for Orlando for the first 10 of his thirteen NBA seasons. Of the 800 games he played throughout his career, he started 636 of them. In a game against the New Jersey Nets toward the close of the 1992–93 regular season, Anderson came off the bench to make 17 of his 25 shots and record a career-high 50 points. For the first time in NBA history, Nike Anderson scored 50 points in a game after coming off the bench.

While playing for Phoenix Suns game against Dallas Mavericks saw Jamal Crawford setting another NBA record. During the game he scored 51 points coming off the bench and his record is yet to be broken in NBA.
