Every basketball player dreams of being named NBA Finals MVP, and today Boston Celtics standout Jaylen Brown accomplished just that. Brown's performance in the Celtics' 4-1 victory over the Dallas Mavericks earned him Finals MVP. Brown finished with 31 points, eight rebounds, and six assists as Boston defeated Dallas in Game 5.

After being voted The Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player after defeating the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 on Monday, Boston's Jaylen Brown delivered a statement in which he acknowledged his teammates for his achievement.

Of the 11 votes cast, eight went to Brown, while three went to teammate Jayson Tatum. His big contribution to protecting Luka Doncic was truly game-changing. He served as the Celtics' anchor throughout the series and scored a game-winning jumper towards the end of the fourth quarter to secure Game 3.

Boston Celtics player then shared a lovely moment with his mother, Mechalle Brown. It was exactly the type of moment so many young hoopers and their parents fantasised when they were young and it was nice to watch them share it on the largest stage.

Jaylen Brown won two MVP awards

Even though everyone was naturally focused on Jayson Tatum of the Celtics as he advanced to the Finals, Brown outperformed the Mavericks. Throughout the series, he shot 44% from the floor and averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and five assists. He was a constant factor in their 4-1 series victory.

Brown will undoubtedly see the 2024 Finals more than once, but he'll view them from a new angle and experience something else. Brown, a more skilled player with better offensive and defensive game management, was prepared for the Finals this season.

Brown, who previously won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP award, has won it again, this time as the NBA Finals MVP. He became the first player to earn Finals MVP after being passed over for All-NBA snub since Andre Iguodala with the Golden State Warriors in 2015.
