It did not made the fans happy who believed that Caitlin was on the right side. They claimed Swoopes to be a hater of the Indiana Feevr star. Sheryl took to X and took an indirect dig at Clark.

She addressed Diamond DeShields and said she was covered and added that evil people could do nothing about it. in the process, the former WNBA star sent love to the star player. "Diamonddoesit1 head up kid! Hate will not win!! You are covered and ain't nothing these evil people can do about that. All love for you!❤️," wrote Swoopes on X.

As soon as the 4-time WNBA champion posted it, the fans were in splits. Many backed Caitlin Clark in the regard and criticised the former WNBA star for taking the side of Diamond. The claims of Sheryl hating Caitlin Clark became stronger as the former did not credit the latter for the improvement of Indiana Fever in the second leg of the WNBA 2024. Instead, she claimed that the improvement from the likes of Lexi Hull, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston has ensured the improvement of Fever. She felt that the WNBA break for the Paris Olympics 2024 helped Fever.
